VI-EPSCoR leadership and scientists have appeared on the TEDXSaintThomas stage to share their experiences with the community and with a broader audience. Hear their stories below.

Nicolas C. Drayton
VI-EPSCoR Assistant Director, Nicolas Drayton appeared on the TEDxSaintThomas stage in July 2017. His talk, “Riding the wave of change into the future, through deliberate creative thinking: the potential for the US Virgin Islands” examined the critical skill set required for survivability and competitiveness in today's environment.

Kristin wilson grimes, Ph.D.
Dr. Kristin Wilson Grimes, Research Assistant Professor of Watershed Ecology at the Center for Marine & Environmental Studies at the University of the Virgin Islands is deeply committed to supporting underrepresented minorities in STEM education. In her TEDxSaintThomas talk entitled, "SEAS Your Tomorrow" she discussed two programs which are shown to broaden participation of underrepresented groups in the ocean sciences in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Viktor Brandtneris is a marine biologist and Technical Diver with the University of the Virgin Islands’ Center for Marine & Environmental Studies. His talk "Shelter from the storm: Finding hope for coral reefs in a changing ocean" he shares how and why we should protect mesophotic coral reefs.
