Searching for Sea Turtles in Carriacou, Grenada

In October of 2022, a collaborative effort between Ocean Spirits, The Hawksbill Project, and the University of the Virgin Islands, conducted the first in-water survey of sea turtles around the island of Carriacou, Grenada. Every turtle they find is a new data point for the known sea turtle population around the small Caribbean island. This data is extremely important due to that sea turtles are still legally hunted in Grenada without having a clear indication of how many are left. This collaborative team of researchers is hoping to answer that question.
